Presentation/Workshop – Financial Planning Beyond Basics – 5/21/26

Thursday May 21, 2026 | 2:00-3:00 PM
Community Room, New Canaan Library

Moneco Advisors is pleased to continue our Financial Planning Series with Financial Planning Beyond the Basics. This session is designed for individuals and families who want to deepen their understanding of financial planning and explore more advanced strategies that support long-term goals.

Building on the concepts introduced in Financial Planning Basics, Bill Shafransky and Derrek Metz will take a closer look at the six core areas of planning—cash flow, insurance, investing, retirement, goal planning, and tax & estate planning—and how thoughtful decisions in each area can work together to create a strong financial future.

Participants will gain practical insights and strategies intended to help navigate real-life financial decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

What You’ll Learn

  • Options for managing liquidity and cash flow needs
  • Roth in-plan conversion strategies
  • How emotions can impact financial decisions—and how to manage them
  • Differences between accumulation investing and retirement (“drawdown”) investing
  • When life insurance may be appropriate—and when it may not be
  • Basic approaches to legacy planning, including trusts and 529 plans

This workshop is part of a multi-session Financial Planning Series hosted by Moneco Advisors. Each program is designed to stand on its own, and registration is required for each individual session.
