LPL Market Commentary

AI and the job market are major themes right now. More companies are using AI to manage costs, which has contributed to some recent layoffs even as overall economic conditions remain stable. Many industries are still early in their AI adoption, and businesses are working through challenges like older systems and training needs. Government policy, interest rates, and rapid changes in technology continue to shape the broader financial and economic environment.

Featured Article: The OBBBA and Donor Advised Funds

The new One Big Beautiful Bill Act brings several tax changes that may influence how you donate. Beginning in 2026, non-itemizers will get a small charitable deduction, but gifts to donor-advised funds (DAFs) do not qualify. For most DAF users who already itemize, this will not change your core strategy. Several rules for itemizers remain in place, and new limits starting in 2026 may reduce the tax value of your deductions. This makes it worth reviewing whether larger gifts should be made before the end of 2025. Even with the new law, DAFs continue to offer strong advantages, especially when donating appreciated assets or separating tax planning from your giving timeline. Read the full article to see how these changes may shape your charitable strategy for the coming years.
